Juan (JC as he is known) is married to Christie, and they have two young boys, Max and Lucas.
Born in Chile, Juan, has been a New Zealand resident since 2006, and has always had a great passion for business and people. He started as an entrepreneur in his late teens, focussing on customer satisfaction, with a few different businesses in Chile and later in NZ. All of these businesses offered a high level of service, from landscaping, food production and distribution, bar ownership and retail/coaching. This gave Juan a great amount of experience and understanding on step by step processes to not only starting businesses, but the key areas to create a successful business.
After working in engineering in NZ for almost 5 years, Juan decided to follow his passion combining his love for sports and business. Juan started “JC Kitesurf and SUP”, a specialist retail store and coaching for people who want to learn how to kitesurf and stand up paddle board. He taught an incredibly diverse range of people, and organised summer and winter events with great sponsors. One such event is a kitesurfing big air event that has been running since 2014 to raise money for Starship children’s Hospital. With his hard work and his major focus on service and customer satisfaction, Juan managed to position the brand in the market as one of the best in New Zealand, which later lead to the sale of the business.
Juan first joined One50 Group to pursue his passion for business, property and finance. The skills he has learnt over his many years in business make him the perfect person to understand and help grow his client’s wealth. Juan is a Registered Financial Adviser, and in 2018 he was appointed Head of People and Culture at One50 Group. This combined role keeps him very busy with our ever growing team.
Outside of work you can find him on the water, foil boarding down the face of a big wave, SUP surfing or kiteboarding around different spots in Auckland.
